Winnipeg, the Capital of the canadian province Manitoba, has long since been part of the Intelligent Communities Award program. But this year ist the first time a Canadian City was named Intelligent community of the year! 

Winnipeg used to have bad broadband service until local business leaders founded the Manitoba Internet Exchange.
