Content of the Roundtable:
- Fix line and mobile network operators are challenged by regulatory changes in established business models, lackluster consumer demand for high bitrate connectivity and decline in mobile price data plans and their inability to charge global OTT platforms for distributing contents and services across these networks.
- Thus, generating an appropriate return on infrastructure investment has become increasingly difficult and the situation will get worse, unless new revenue sources can be identified soon.
- National audiovisual media is on the other side of competition with global media and tech companies and the decline in broadcast distribution leaves them with no alternative to working with their competitors to transform their business models and protect their market position.
- We will discuss media-, data- and advertising-use cases and approaches, how fix-line operators can generate profitable business from value add services for media companies, advertising and other stakeholders in the audiovisual media ecosystem.
